Panamera after all

It's not beautiful. But you can't help to look at it. And it grows on you. The more you look the more details unfold. You turn around but can't help to look back.

It has classic luxurious sport proportions, a bit like an old Bugatti. A long nose, long lines, big wheels which still seem small in relation to the car.
It has some faults, like the weird rear passenger door windows, which look like an afterthought compromise. Which they probably are, because the initial proposals are reported to have been redesigned, a bit higher roofline, more room and therefore probably a different door design.
Some surfaces like the front and the bonnet, as well as the sidepanels seem to lack curves, the car appears to be stretched.

I recently wrote how the Gemballa sketches of the Panamera seem to take care about some of the Panamera's quirks, though we still wait to see the real thing. And after I saw a particular Panamera Turbo at a dealer, I am not sure if we need to. The dealers car featured GT Silver as a warm metallic colour. The Panamera had the optional 20 inch Turbo wheels and Espresso coloured dark brown leather. The leather could be just a tad lighter for my taste, but otherwise, this colour and rim combination works wonders as you can see on the pictures. The silver gives a much warmer impression in reality though.

And Porsche really shines once you enter one of their models. All Porsches have that, but the Panamera excels in this department. The interior is stunning and the ergonomics give the impression that the car has been built around you. The touch and feel of this 4-door sportscar is simply unbelievable.

After that experience, who wants an AMG Merc, the 7-series, the Jags and Audi RS6? Or even Maserati Quattroporte or the Aston Martin Rapide?
